Hazy Shade of Winter
This morning, I went to work wearing opaque tights. Midway down the road, it started lashing, and I reached into my vast bag, and pulled out both a hat, and an umbrella. The heating's been put back on in the building. Despite that, my room-mate nipped out at lunchtime and bought a jumper. And I have a cold.
It's the middle of June, for goodness sakes.
I'm not sure if we have a freak weather system going on here at the moment, or if this is global warming, but whatever it is, it is rubbish. I've gone from having rooms full of people with streaming, hayfever eyes, to rooms full of people sniffing and sneezing and spreading their germs. Including myself.
My new hair is not keeping my head very warm at all.
Someone please tell me - how is it possible to flip from flip-flops to boots in a fortnight?
Regardless. The weather is proper bobbins. I'm off to skulk in the bath with the week's trashy magazines. At least it will be warm there.

No two days are the same any more where the weather is concerned :-(
Having said that, today, and yesterday, has been really bright and sunny. Mind you, it did threaten to rain a couple of times during the day, but luckily it held off.
Roll on summer, eh?
By the way, I know I am a complete pain in the arse, but I've got a new blog. Yes. AGAIN! LOL.
I just wanted to let you know in case you happened upon it elsewhere and maybe wondered why I hadn't told you.
I hope the week ahead will be a better one for you, and that you wont be suffering with the sniffles for too long!
Hugs,

god isn't it pants. i thought i'd take myself on a brief constitutional after work today and was nothing short of freezing by the time i had walked the park. honestly we wait all year to be grateful for 3 poxy months of sun normally.. these days we don't even get that, and there's me worrying bump+heat would prove too much, wishful thinking!!
Well you will live in Scotland. It's been bloody gorgeous down here in Brighton. I sweated live a bastard today.
Just so you know.
Summer is proving to be '1 day on, 6 days off' again this year. It's really quite crap. I'm looking forward to going to New York and wearing my summer clothes, even if it's going to be bastard hot!
Ah, the great British summer. Shivering in the park trying to eat a picnic whilst the gale-force winds rip your sandwiches out of your hands. Turning blue after 15 minutes. Opaque tights in June. Fond memories!
You should take yourself off somewhere sunny!
BTW While I missed the photo of your new hairstyle, from your description it sounds ace!
Cat, I'm off to New Orleans, and the Gulf coast for a week of sun, sand, and very high humidity and temperatures (90+). You are of course, welcome to join me. Shall I save a room in the Beach house? BTW, the Christmas invite is still standing as well.
We got the rain today... and it's still not gone!
My feeling about summer in this country, is that you have to just take a decision to move into summer clothes (regardless of weather) and then stick to it. Otherwise we would be in boring winter wear all year long......with the possible exception of about 6 EXTREAMLY hot days when you don't have anything cool enough which is also decent enough for work!
Hello! Have just found your blog and am enjoying.....am new to the blogging word so not quite sure how to do things yet....
Lindsay, I never know what to put on in the mornings at the moment. We've been really unlucky with heavy rain this week which has been horrid.
Katy, I really hope it perks up soon. I have six weeks off and want to spend it lying in the garden!
Timbo, perhaps I'll come and visit you this summer. I could do with a bit of seaside kitsch.
Yaeli, I could do with jetting off right enough, but I just don't have the funds at the mo. And the hair's pretty good, if I do say so myself!
Cody Bones, don't tempt me. I am already starting to worry about Christmas.
Alison, it's dry here just now. It was glorious when I woke up this morning, then I went back to bed for an hour, got up again, and discovered thick cloud had come in.
Just Me, hello, and welcome to the Cathouse. Come back any time.
I don't know how I ever managed to survive living in Scotland. Over here , it's been 40 degrees nearly every day since the middle of May. That gets annoying (especially since I don't have a car, and have to cycle about everywhere) but I am now totally acclimatized to the heat. It would be very difficult for me to move back to Scotland, I think.
SM, it is certainly weird going around in a cardigan under my jacket at the moment! I think this summer's been especially rubbish. I am hoping it's all going to change the minute I go off on holiday though...
